Banff National Park is one of Canada’s gem next to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ( you thought it, I said it). During the summers one can enjoy the turquoise and crystal clear lakes of Lake Louise and Lake Moraine, but the winters in Banff are not to be missed! Surrounded by a village of aspen trees and the snow capped Canadian Rockies you are transported to a  winter wonderland.

Don’t let the cold front stop you from visiting! Here are some of my recommendations for long-weekend visit to Banff National Park:

Book an ice walk to Johnston's Canyon

I booked an ice walk tour with Discover Banff to Johnston Canyon. This 5-KM nature walk provides you transportation to/from Banff and a guided tour walking by streams, frozen waters falls and you can even spot a few people ice climbing (like rock climbing). A must if you recommendation for those interested in photography

Take a dip at the Upper Hot Springs

One of the most affordable ways for some R&R is a trip to the Upper Hot Springs. It is a large pool that is heated up to 37C (98 F). Enjoy a spectacular view of Sulphur Mountain. Take the Roam Transit for $2 CAD as it drops you off just a short walk to the hot springs

Go tubing and sightseeing

I’d recommend tubing at Mt. Norquay. They have about 8 lanes that ensure some serious speed and laughs. Buy the sightseeing bundle that will allow for a ski lift up to the mountain for a spectacular view of the Rockies. Another must for those interested in photography

Ice Skating at Fairmont Chateau in Lake Louise

Shop and people watch down Banff Ave

Enjoy a nice Beavertail or Poutine while you have some coffee or tea on Banff Ave. This is Banff longest street filled with various shops, restaurants and clubs.

Ski or Snowboard the Big Three

If you are a beginner or avid Skier or Snowboarder, skiing the Big 3 ( Mt. Norquay, Sunshine, and Lake Louise) are a must! The resorts offer free shuttle to and from the mountains
