I ran a half marathon: 4 reasons why you shouldn't!

I can’t believe it…

I hate being challenged.

This is my third half marathon. I’m no athlete, trust me. Some laps feel like I’m running in quicksand and others, I’ve got all the energy to carry me through. Running a half marathon is mentally and physically challenging.

Here are 4 reasons you might want not to consider running a half marathon 👇🏼🏃🏻‍♀️

1️⃣ If you’re not planning to see a city in a new and unique way. My run with @runcolfax we ran through the Denver Zoo, downtown, and a firehouse.

2️⃣ If you do not want to be a part of the community + support. The running community is very encouraging. People of all shapes, sizes, and ages hit the pavement on race day. For some, it’s their first, for others it’s their 1st or 21st race. The people who show up with their signs on race day are wholesome.

3️⃣ If you don’t want to be challenged mentally + physically. By far the most challenging thing is controlling your mind. Tell yourself you can do it! “I CAN do hard things! I’ve got this!”.

4️⃣ If you don’t like to grow outside your comfort zone. A smooth sea doesn’t make a skilled sailor. We grow when we’re pushed outside of our comfort zone.
